How Clearing my mind helped me

Fed up with all the stress and anxiety taking over your life? Yes, I've been there too. It's just so hectic to manage things with a flooded mind of thousands of thoughts. Here is something I did to declutter my mind and have better days.

Decluttering mind

I was always one of the worriers, biting my nails in the corner of the room - overthinking what to do next. Life went so fast that I was always Multi-tasking and couldn’t decide what was happening around me. However, I ended up lagging behind with everything I had in my hands and anxiety took over my ‘rest time’.

When I finally had enough, I sat down one day and was like I can’t be all over the place and had to organize my thoughts just as I loved to do with my room. It was then when I started to do this and little did I know how much transformation it can bring. For the first time, I had my work sorted and a genuine Self-care time.

There are many ways to clear your mind. Some people say Yoga and Meditation help while others suggest favorite music and food bring peace. However, I did not have a specific path for it so I’m listing down what worked for me :

Recognize the Mental Clutter

The first step towards sliding off the worries is to first acknowledge them. From people to thoughts, everyone and everything needs attention, so just give them that. The never-ending to-do lists, worries about the future, and regrets from the past consume most of our thoughts. Take a step back and re-assess them - Do they really have the right to be in your extraordinary mind?

You can do it by writing them and all the thoughts near them (This is what I did- Wrote down everything, burned all the past regrets paper, and wrote a new “how will I get better” Paper and pasted it in front of my desk). So just find your way and move on to a better reality!

Have a Daily Routine for yourself

Trust me, a Daily routine is the best time management tool ever. You’ll not even realize how much focus and difference it brings. Things get done in time and we get time for ourselves. All the Procrastination takes the side door and whoah- there you have your pending assignment done in time. Having a daily routine helps to establish a sense of structure and discipline in our lives. It allows us to prioritize tasks and allocate specific time slots for different activities, ensuring that we stay on track and meet deadlines. With a well-planned routine, you can also create space for self-care and relaxation, ultimately leading to a more balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.

Start a Journal

Journaling was one of the most efficient ways to declutter my mind. Writing down emotions, feelings and behaviors, I got a lot of clarity of my inner struggles and their patterns. It feels like a secure space to talk about your feeling to yourself. With no judgement at all, you can express everything. Journaling also helped me gain a deeper understanding of myself and my thought processes. By regularly reflecting on my experiences, I was able to identify recurring patterns and make positive changes in my life. Additionally, the act of writing can be therapeutic and provide a sense of release, allowing me to let go of any pent-up emotions or stress.

Self Care and Gratitude

It can be 30 minutes, one hour or anytime you decide, where you take out time for yourself. I call it ‘Self- care’ time where I do anything I like- usually, I do skincare and read. You can do whatever you like- dancing, exercise, yoga, meditation, reading, going out for a walk, or even just sleep. The main point is to enjoy and explore the self. Also, practice Gratitude. You can write it down or just recite it to yourself looking at the mirror. Gratitude manifests even the better version of the future that you want. So just do it!

Let go of all expectations (from others)

Keeping expectations from others is risky. Having expectations hurts more than it helps. If something doesn’t go according to your expectations then it disappoints you but if it does, then also you are not able to feel the most out of it because you were already expecting it. However, having expectations from yourself is helpful in keeping you on track. You work hard for yourself- to meet your expectations. So it's about you not them.

Be Original, Live your Story

Overall, I’ll suggest you customize anything according to your liking. It’s not necessary to go on the same path but this is just a roadmap for you to start. Remember, it's not about reaching a destination but embracing the journey itself. The road to inner peace might have some twists and turns, but trust me, it's worth every step.

So, let's take a deep breath and start clearing our minds together. Embrace mindfulness, declutter your life, find solace in nature, let your thoughts flow on paper, and sprinkle gratitude everywhere. And most importantly, don't forget to let go of that iron grip on life!
